Wrap-Up Post

My favorite projects were the audio and video projects. I liked the audio project because I enjoyed using the editing process on adobe. I thought it was really fun to razor (cut) audio in half and adding sounds to around a track, it was all completely fun for me. I also liked the video project because of having to make videos and create something like a trailer or short story through camera was more interesting then I thought it would be. I think using audition to using premiere was this easiest to convert over to because it share more similarities then the first to units.

The skill I learned from this course that I could walk away with is manly from the logo unit. It challenged me the most and made me think about what I would want my brand to be, which is something I never thought about before. I have alway been interested in computer design for fun but I never thought I would be able to dabble in creating anything. I thought that was the one of the new skills and also one of my favorite skills to learn.

I am majoring in strategic communications, I see myself in a career either in management or marketing. I would say that this course has some influence on me because it started to push me more towards the marketing side. I would start to say marketing because there are careers that are based for created for film, sounds and design that would be incredible to be involved in. Before this course I never thought of my major that way where I could direct it towards something this creative.

I do not think I missed out on learning anything because I had no expectation when interring this course. I knew that it was about media design but I had no idea what I was suppose to being getting out of it in the beginning.

I have a macbook air and I thought that with this high tech computer it would help me with these type of assignment, and I was right. I think that having iMovie and iTunes to help me play around with the editing and graphics helped me adduct to the adobe technology better then if I was start from scratch.

Final Video Story

 

 

Creating this video was very difficult for me because of having to plan what to put in from pictures, video music and text. It was all about telling a story visually, and that was something that was difficult for me to show through this video. This story is what ‘I gathered from what I have been up to sense being home for a semester, working and spending time with my mom. I felt that this relative to my theme of my blog which is me. Unfortunately my life at home is not that exciting for coming up with footage of what I do on a day to day bases is slim to known in the interesting department.

I finally got my video clips and picture from my time at home which in Seattle, Washington, and pout most of it in this story. In the story it showed all the area in around, what the weather is like, spending lunch with my mom, and pictures with the people I love. I have really tried to make being home a learning and growing experience while taking classes, working and running the house hold down. The transitions I am really glad I got to play around with because it adds more interesting view when going from one point of the video to another. I did happen to rearrange the clips and picture because I thought it might flow better with the revised edits.

For music I added Happy by Pharrell Williams and I love you by an unknown person. I think that the song Happy by Pharrell Williams is really positive song that inspires people. I think in the beginning there is an up beat song and then towards the end there a softer song.

Draft Video Story

 

 

Creating this video was very difficult for me because of having to plan what to put in from pictures, video music and text. My video could have used music and more titles, so that people would know more about what they were looking at. I could not find music, so that is something I want to add to the final story video.

Final Audio Story

 

 

I chose to create my audio story to be about me because that is what my blog is based on. I choose to have my boyfriend talk about our history and how he feels. I thought choosing my boyfriend would be a good person to interview because we have known each other since we were like in the second grade. When interviewing myself and my boyfriend (Greg) I could not decide what I want to include into it. For the final I wanted to change wanted to change what I said because it was to low and I could not make it any louder and I also thought a do over would make it a better piece. I mentioned a little of my life situation briefly because I wanted people to know why I have choose to make the life style change I did.

In the beginning I did not think that I would have wanted to put a song into my audio draft. I thought I wanted a clear cut interview and nothing else.Then I wanted to be creative and have a song that I thought was beautiful but I knew I probably not use songs with words. I so took the beginning of the song before the lyrics began and tired to cut the words out. I wanted to began with me speaking on my behalf, telling my side of the interview and then bring in someone else.

Editing the music I could not decide how long I wanted the introduction to be so it is really short and my interviews are long but cut out most of the “umm” and “likes” as possible. I need to editing both of my interviews down so that it does not seem like they are forever. Editing the second time was easier for me because I got familiar with the razor in adobe, I practice cutting and learning how to un-razor sentences. I used my recorder on my apple which made me convert from iMovie to adobe audition. Which was easier then I thought it would be, so the second time creating this was more smooth then relearning of everything.

I almost forgot how to do cut out thing with adobe so it took me a long time to editing and revise how I was going to do. I also had a rough time with soundcloud, it was hard for me to download my first draft of the audio. So then I thought if I recreate the draft then it would work.

Final Logo

 

With my final draft I decided to change the look of my logo a bit. When first designing this logo I was having a hard time with getting the shape of my logo to smooth out evenly without having any dents in it but that was failed, so I change it and played around with some more shapes to make it seem more is unison. Once again I made sure to include my name because I felt if this class was going to be about me then I might as well have my name the logo. Going with the blog being about me I decide to position my name in the middle drawing my name to the center of you attention.

I decided to take the suggestion given to me about changing the color to make the logo seem unified, making a bigger statement then when the color were different. I also change the shape of the logo because I could not get the dent out of it so I started over and made sharper edges to make it have a cleaner feeling. Color wise I  changed the first shapes texturized color and used my favorite color mint blue and baby blue by using gradient even it out. My peer and instructor were right about the gradient bringing the illusion of mass light, which really brought out my color and the airiness I was looking for when trying to change the direction of my logos color.

I choose this color because it has been my favorite color since I was a young 10 years old. This symbol on the side of my initials was to be a sign on smooth edges and sharp painful ones. The smooth edge to to symbol represents my life that is going well and is good. But the pointed edges on the symbol is to represent the hardship and rough times that I have to trying to fight through.

I am very please with how my final logo came out. I decided to keep it simple because even though I have gone through a lot I still consider myself to be a simple person. The changes I made made my logo seem more personal and unified.

Designing this I was making sure that I showed my name in it. Which is the reason why I decided to put my initials in the logo. I decided only to focus on me in this logo because it was about pointing out only myself. In my photo collage I included everyone but this time I wanted it to be about me. The point for me in this post was to change the focus. 

I choose this color because it has been my favorite color since I was a young 10 years old. This symbol on the side of my initials was to be a sign on smooth edges and sharp painful ones. The smooth edge to to symbol represents my life that is going well and is good. But the pointed edges on the symbol is to represent the hardship and rough times that I have to trying to fight through.

 

I could make some more improvements with the design especially with the background. I did not know what to do with it, and I wanted to fix the dent it the curved symbol but it made the symbol mess up. I wanted to think that it meant something deeper but I think I just needed to start from scratch.
